Referral code
Also known as: Promotional code
A referral code is a unique alphanumeric string (usually the creator’s uppercase nickname or a variation) issued by an operator to each sponsored streamer for the audience to enter when registering, depositing or redeeming a bonus. It is the simplest and most visible attribution mechanism in creator marketing, usually alongside unique affiliate links to cover both direct traffic (code) and link-driven traffic.
Context
Referral codes serve two functions: technical attribution to the creator, and marketing — reinforcing audience recall of the streamer’s brand and creating a personal connection with the campaign. Memorable codes (short nicknames, keywords) outperform random combinations. Many operators also attach an exclusive audience bonus — an increased deposit, free bet or free spins — which improves conversion against the standard bonus on the operator’s homepage.
