StatTrak
Also known as: StatTrak™
StatTrak is an official CS2 feature that records and displays, in the inventory, the cumulative eliminations a player has achieved with that particular weapon skin. Only a small percentage of skins from official cases have it, making them more expensive than equivalent models of the same quality. StatTrak is cumulative and non-transferable: the counter resets to zero when a skin changes owner.
Context
A StatTrak skin’s premium over its non-StatTrak equivalent varies by weapon popularity and float, but is systematic — beyond a certain recorded-kill threshold, additional collector value can be significant. StatTrak also appeals psychologically to active competitive players watching the counter grow through their own play. In trade-ups, the StatTrak property is retained only if all ten submitted skins are also StatTrak.
