NGR
Also known as: Net Gaming Revenue
NGR (Net Gaming Revenue) is GGR minus costs directly associated with gambling activity: bonuses, payment-processing expenses, licence fees, chargebacks and gambling tax. It reflects the operator’s actual operating margin and is the usual basis for calculating affiliate RevShare commissions. Unlike GGR, NGR can be compared across operators of different sizes as an efficiency indicator.
Context
The exact NGR formula varies by operator and contract — some deduct only bonuses and gambling tax, while others also include payment and compliance costs. This matters to affiliates because it directly affects their share: two operators offering “40% RevShare” can pay very different amounts depending on the deductions applied to GGR before calculating NGR. Proper contracts explicitly detail what is deducted.
How we apply it at SocialPro
When negotiating RevShare, SocialPro always validates the operator’s NGR formula before signing. A percentage of a heavily deducted NGR base is worth less than a lower percentage of a clean base.
